But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gil Paraibano couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute, Antônio Carlos Magalhães made a precise shot to the right of Osvaldo Mumbach. Kaballah F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The supporters of Papacudacabeçaroxa F.C booed when Kaballah F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Paulo Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kaballah F.C's zone, Gil Paraibano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Mumbach came out of the goal and Gil Paraibano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdir Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valdir Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Osvaldo Mumbach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Papacudacabeçaroxa F.C's Osvaldo Mumbach threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gil Paraibano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cícero Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Kaballah F.C's goalkeeper Osvaldo Mumbach had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdir Sena. Gil Paraibano's late challenge caught a Kaballah F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gil Paraibano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Kaballah F.C booed when Papacudacabeçaroxa F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Papacudacabeçaroxa F.C getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Gil Paraibano hit a great ball. Luís Paulo Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Osvaldo Mumbach made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Valdir Sena sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gil Paraibano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Gil Paraibano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kaballah F.C's Osvaldo Mumbach was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Valdir Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papacudacabeçaroxa F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdir Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldo Mumbach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Papacudacabeçaroxa F.C's Valdir Sena in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 77th minute Gil Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Mumbach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Papacudacabeçaroxa F.C's Antônio Carlos Magalhães suffered a concussion after 89 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee gave Papacudacabeçaroxa F.C a penalty, 92 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eriberto Godoi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kaballah F.C's Osvaldo Mumbach. 2-0.
