Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Arasselva EC's Giovani Viana started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Arasselva EC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Jefferson Nogueira hit a great ball. After 4 played minutes, Hamburgberg's Luisinho Machado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jarbas de Mendonça came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hamburgberg reached it. In the 8th minute, Frederico de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristiano Antunes scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gildo Pires, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the match, Hamburgberg's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Antunes came free, but Gildo Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Hamburgberg defense, Giovani Viana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gildo Pires. The Hamburgberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gildo Pires should have stopped the shot. After 23 minutes, Telmo Magalhães mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arasselva EC and the Hamburgberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 23 played minutes Arasselva EC got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Magalhães. Frederico de Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute Giovani Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarbas de Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederico de Senna in the 34th minute. After a rather tough play, Arasselva EC's Dudu Sarmento got a free kick in the 35th minute. Luisinho Machado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Jarbas de Mendonça made a huge save. If Edson Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarbas de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Rosa in the 42nd minute of play. Edson Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jarbas de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience was convinced that Giovani Viana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gildo Pires was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Arasselva EC's zone, Edson Rosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarbas de Mendonça came out of the goal and Edson Rosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Arasselva EC! Jarbas de Mendonça went to the wrong direction when Luisinho Machado was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Jarbas de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Rosa in the 70th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Cristiano Antunes could shoot a difficult shot in the 78th minute, which Gildo Pires however easily saved by the left post. When Giovani Viana came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Arasselva EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovani Viana couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute Dagoberto Gomes suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Breno Quirino fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hamburgberg's protests and gave Breno Quirino a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Hamburgberg getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Breno Quirino hit a great ball. Jarbas de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico de Senna in the 90th minute of the match. Edson Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas de Mendonça having to interfere. If Cristiano Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geraldo Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
