Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marcos Toledo started the match with the kick off. Hortêncio da Cunha struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Gildo Pires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians FC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frederico de Senna in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacinto Sanches saved Corinthians FC from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Edson Rosa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jacinto Sanches. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Toledo in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gildo Pires saved Hamburgberg from getting behind. After 16 played minutes Hamburgberg got a freekick which was hit by Edson Rosa. Hortêncio da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Gildo Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Corinthians FC booed when Hamburgberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geraldo Madureira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geraldo Madureira charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geraldo Madureira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22ndth minute of the game Marcos Toledo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hamburgberg's Gildo Pires was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gildo Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Marcos Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacinto Sanches made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederico de Senna in the 28th minute. Jacinto Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Rosa in the 31st minute of the match. Hortêncio da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gildo Pires having to interfere. Edson Rosa hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Geraldo Madureira got his second yellow card in the match during the 35th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 36th minute, Geraldo Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gildo Pires having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Toledo in the 42nd minute of play forced Hamburgberg's goalkeeper Gildo Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Marcos Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Corinthians FC's Toninho Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frederico de Senna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nestor de Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacinto Sanches having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Frederico de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hamburgberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Frederico de Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Sanches breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Corinthians FC's Marcos Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gildo Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Gildo Pires stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Toledo's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. When Toninho Castro came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Corinthians FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toninho Castro couldn't finish the play. If Marcos Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toninho Castro during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gildo Pires didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 82nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Marcos Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toninho Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Corinthians FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. José Carlos Monteiro hit a great ball.
