In the 16th minute Gonçalo Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Durvalino Maranhense's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Dênis Arce skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Marajazinho's Dênis Arce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Marajazinho from getting a goal against them. After having played for 27 minutes, Durvalino Maranhense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catonho FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Durvalino Maranhense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Durval Guimarães might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Cabral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Durval Guimarães ran back to his position shaking his head. When Ezequiel Toledo fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marajazinho's protests and gave Ezequiel Toledo a yellow card for diving instead. 33 minutes into the game, Vágner Monteiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Erik Cabral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 37 played minutes, Marajazinho's Kauã de Sousa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Erik Cabral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marajazinho reached it. Dênis Arce made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Durvalino Maranhense sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute, Gonçalo Neto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dênis Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Durvalino Maranhense was the one to do the kick off. Gonçalo Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Dênis Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dênis Arce came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Catonho FC's Durvalino Maranhense. But to his dismay, Durvalino Maranhense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. A collision led to Marajazinho getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Vágner Monteiro hit a great ball. Ezequiel Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Durvalino Maranhense might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dênis Arce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Durvalino Maranhense ran back to his position shaking his head. Marajazinho's Dênis Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Maranhense in the 72nd minute of play. With a little luck, Catonho FC's Erik Cabral got control of the ball when Vágner Monteiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Gonçalo Neto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dênis Arce was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gonçalo Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Neto in the 82nd minute of play forced Marajazinho's goalkeeper Dênis Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rdth minute of the game Durvalino Maranhense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marajazinho's Dênis Arce was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Percy Valadares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catonho FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marajazinho the free kick. After a rather tough play, Catonho FC's Percy Valadares got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 91stth minute of the game Durvalino Maranhense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marajazinho's Dênis Arce was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee ended the match the Catonho FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
