The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Corumbaense F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rubro Negros F.C:s goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulisses das Neves was the one to do the kick off. Ulisses das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Dário Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Rubro Negros F.C booed when Corumbaense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Corumbaense F.C. defense, Júlio Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dário Couto. The Corumbaense F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dário Couto should have stopped the shot. Dedé Couto scored 1-5 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelo Mattos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Corumbaense F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rubro Negros F.C were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
