Breno Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Guilherme Aguiar in the 9th minute of play. Breno Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Guilherme Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Recai Şenyurt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saara EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Recai Şenyurt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Breno Pombal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute, Luís Guilherme Aguiar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Saara EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Breno Pombal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Recai Şenyurt in the 19th minute. Luiz Gustavo dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Júlio Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Júlio Sabóia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexandre Teles went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Gertrudes defense, Sergio Oliveiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Breno Pombal. The Gertrudes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Breno Pombal should have stopped the shot. 45 minutes into the game, Naldo Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Breno Pombal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute Recai Şenyurt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Breno Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Pombal came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Saara EC's Luís Guilherme Aguiar. But to his dismay, Luís Guilherme Aguiar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Guilherme Aguiar in the 57th minute of play forced Gertrudes's goalkeeper Breno Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joélson de Queiroz's late challenge caught a Saara EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joélson de Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. Saara EC made a substitution. Enéas Zonta replaced Naldo Moreira. After a rather tough play, Gertrudes's Joélson de Queiroz got a free kick in the 62nd minute. If Sergio Oliveiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68thth minute of the game Luís Guilherme Aguiar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gertrudes's Breno Pombal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Christian Sabóia came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Gertrudes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Sabóia couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Gertrudes defense, Enéas Zonta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Breno Pombal. The Gertrudes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Breno Pombal should have stopped the shot. Recai Şenyurt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 81 minutes into the game, Luiz Araújo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saara EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gertrudes the free kick. Luiz Araújo hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Filipe Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gertrudes's supporters rose to their feet, but Filipe Ramos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio Sabóia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 90 minutes into the match, Gertrudes's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Botelho came free, but Breno Pombal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gertrudes were furious when Luisinho Siqueira was red carded, 92 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gertrudes! The referee gave Saara EC a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Caco Queiroz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gertrudes's Breno Pombal. 7-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Maria Botelho in the 98th minute of play forced Gertrudes's goalkeeper Breno Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saara EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
