The Santos Futebol City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ajacio were winning 0-1.

52 minutes into the match, Santos Futebol City's Gugu Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuel Aguiar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Maurinho Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Aguiar having to interfere. The referee ignored Santos Futebol City's protests and gave Berkan Özerk a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Santos Futebol City! Camilo Resto went to the wrong direction when Felippe Moreira was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Ronaldão Linhares could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Camilo Resto however easily saved by the left post. After some careless play in the Ajacio defense, Gugu Lima kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emanuel Aguiar. The Ajacio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emanuel Aguiar should have stopped the shot. The Santos Futebol City fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when Santos Futebol City's Maurinho Sena looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Ajacio's zone, Gugu Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Aguiar came out of the goal and Gugu Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gugu Lima in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel Aguiar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santos Futebol City's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
