Jarbas Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doriva das Neves in the 18th minute of play. If Doriva das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. Raizama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Juventude the free kick. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ezequiel Silveira made a kick off. Jarbas Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doriva das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Sebastião Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 68 minutes, Marcinho Leite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Juventude and the Raizama players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Raizama booed when Juventude was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcinho Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Marcinho Leite came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Juventude fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcinho Leite couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Juventude's Jarbas Barreto got control of the ball when Doriva das Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Juventude fully deserved thier win.
