Adhemar Pitta made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Leandro Nóbrega sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Fernando Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tymoteusz Waselewicz in the 18th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Sampaio Correia F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Edmílson Nunes came free, but Adhemar Pitta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmílson Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sampaio Correia F.C's zone, Leandro Nóbrega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adhemar Pitta came out of the goal and Leandro Nóbrega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Sampaio Correia F.C getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Willian Furtado hit a great ball. Adhemar Pitta didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 39th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 45th minute Wilson Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Willian Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fernando Rocha having to interfere. Carlinhos de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Edmílson Nunes made the kick off in the second half. If Willian Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Wilson Vieira came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Sampaio Correia F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson Vieira couldn't finish the play. After 58 played minutes Sampaio Correia F.C got a freekick which was hit by Paulão Mazza. In the 59th minute Doriva Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhemar Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Magno Bezerra hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Leandro Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Pitta having to interfere. Wilson Vieira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luiz Fernando Rocha came out and tried to block the shot, but Wilson Vieira slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 65th minute. After some careless play in the Sampaio Correia F.C defense, Leandro Nóbrega kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adhemar Pitta. The Sampaio Correia F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adhemar Pitta should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Assunguy's Luiz Fernando Rocha got control of the ball when Tymoteusz Waselewicz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Willian Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sampaio Correia F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Willian Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adhemar Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erivaldo Andrade in the 78th minute of the match. Sampaio Correia F.C's Adhemar Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erivaldo Andrade in the 79th minute of play. When Armindo Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sampaio Correia F.C's protests and gave Armindo Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. Willian Furtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sampaio Correia F.C's Willian Furtado was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 91st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Despite being the better team, Sampaio Correia F.C failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
