Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Normetal EC's Eugeniusz Lizewski started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Normetal EC's Eusébio Alvarenga got control of the ball when Benê Trigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benê Trigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Eusébio Alvarenga made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Dedê Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Normetal EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedê Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Hames breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albertino Figueiredo hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Claudinei Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Hames stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eugeniusz Lizewski's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Dedê Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Luiz Hames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albertino Figueiredo got free with Eusébio Alvarenga in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Hames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedê Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eusébio Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aluísio Mazza in the 34th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Mateus's goal looked a bit too open when Eugeniusz Lizewski came free, but Luiz Hames reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 38 minutes, Dedê Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Normetal EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedê Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albertino Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Alvarenga having to interfere. Normetal EC's Eusébio Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Paraibano in the 46th minute of play. If Eugeniusz Lizewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aluísio Mazza made a kick off. In the 55th minute of the match Claudinei Queirós shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Hames showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 57th minute, Aluísio Mazza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benê Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Eugeniusz Lizewski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luiz Hames came out and tried to block the shot, but Eugeniusz Lizewski slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 64th minute. Eugeniusz Lizewski's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Luiz Hames skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cristóvão da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Luiz Hames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Hames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugeniusz Lizewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugeniusz Lizewski in the 74th minute of play forced Mateus's goalkeeper Luiz Hames to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Normetal EC made a substitution. Otávio Baiano replaced Cristóvão da Rocha. Mateus's Armindo Recife was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eusébio Alvarenga in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Eugeniusz Lizewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Hames having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Normetal EC's goal looked a bit too open when Aluísio Mazza came free, but Eusébio Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eusébio Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aluísio Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eusébio Alvarenga came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Mateus's Albertino Figueiredo. But to his dismay, Albertino Figueiredo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Normetal EC's zone, Benê Trigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Alvarenga came out of the goal and Benê Trigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Normetal EC's Eusébio Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aluísio Mazza in the 94th minute of play.
