José Carlos Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juvenal de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Alessandro da Fonseca hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute of the match Durval Domingues sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Carlos Tande skillfully saved the ball. After 13 minutes, Durvalino Peixoto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mariapopolis and the Soca-Nelas f.c players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, one of Mariapopolis:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mariapopolis. Mariapopolis's Diguinho Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséas Baiano in the 16th minute of play. José Carlos Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 25 played minutes Mariapopolis got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal de Alcântara. 28 minutes into the game, Gláuber Zonta lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Diguinho Paiva. A collision led to Soca-Nelas f.c getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Basílio Andrade hit a great ball. A hard shot 33 in the game by Gláuber Zonta from a close distance when the talented Diguinho Paiva managed to make a qualified save. Mariapopolis's players were relieved. In the 34th minute Dorian Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Carlos Tande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gláuber Zonta succeeded in the game's 38th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Diguinho Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Andrade in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rdth minute of the game Gláuber Zonta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mariapopolis's Diguinho Paiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fernando Matos hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Dorian Garcia made the kick off in the second half. Diguinho Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gláuber Zonta in the 52nd minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Mariapopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Gláuber Zonta came free, but Diguinho Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gláuber Zonta in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diguinho Paiva saved Mariapopolis from getting behind. In the 72nd match minute, Soca-Nelas f.c was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Matos to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, Soca-Nelas f.c's goalkeeper José Carlos Tande had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juvenal de Alcântara. Dorian Garcia took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Carlos Tande. José Carlos Tande dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gláuber Zonta in the 84th minute of play forced Mariapopolis's goalkeeper Diguinho Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 minutes, Dorian Garcia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mariapopolis and the Soca-Nelas f.c players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mariapopolis's Dorian Garcia got a free kick in the 86th minute. After 86 minutes, Gláuber Zonta made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Mariapopolis's Diguinho Paiva tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Dorian Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diguinho Paiva came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Soca-Nelas f.c's Gláuber Zonta. But to his dismay, Gláuber Zonta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. 95 minutes into the game, Dinei Tinoco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mariapopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Soca-Nelas f.c the free kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mariapopolis players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Soca-Nelas f.c.
