In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gallinhos's goalkeeper Emanuel Fernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Gallinhos's Emanuel Fernandez got control of the ball when Edinho Tasso tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Miguel Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Fluminense Capixaba Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Saldanha couldn't finish the play. Gallinhos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Gildo Loyola scored to the left of an out of position Emanuel Fernandez, making the score, 2-1. Edinho Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Emanuel Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramiro Fantini was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 34th minute. Fluminense Capixaba Clube's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Edinho Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Emanuel Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gildo Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 45 minutes into the match, Ramiro Fantini had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emanuel Fernandez. Gallinhos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ramiro Fantini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Faustão Porto to strike the kick off in the second half. Emanuel Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gildo Loyola in the 61st minute of the match. When Ramiro Fantini fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fluminense Capixaba Clube's protests and gave Ramiro Fantini a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes Fluminense Capixaba Clube got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Fantini. After 65 played minutes Gallinhos got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Correia. Emanuel Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gildo Loyola in the 66th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gallinhos's zone, Durval Moreno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Fernandez came out of the goal and Durval Moreno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Durval Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fluminense Capixaba Clube fully deserved thier win.
