In the 21st match minute, Piqui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breno Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. Samuel Guedes, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Armandinho Novaes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the game, Zé Roberto Costa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Himalaia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piqui the free kick. The supporters of Piqui booed when Himalaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Ernani Campidelis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The wind increased when Giuseppe Paiva made the kick off in the second half. After 68 played minutes Piqui got a freekick which was hit by Breno Carneiro. Giuseppe Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Himalaia's Giuseppe Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Piqui's Armandinho Novaes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Piqui from getting a goal against them. After 78 played minutes Piqui got a freekick which was hit by Betinho de Amorim. Percival Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the match, Himalaia's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho de Amorim came free, but Ernani Campidelis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manoel Nóbrega hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Himalaia's zone, Adhemar Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernani Campidelis came out of the goal and Adhemar Novaes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the match, Piqui's Douglas Monteiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernani Campidelis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Douglas Monteiro took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernani Campidelis. Ernani Campidelis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Piqui were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Himalaia for a fine match.
