After a rather tough play, Varzeao's Luiz Fábio Valle got a free kick in the 66th minute. Antônio Carlos Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedrão Alves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nelson Severo's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Nelson Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot. POLICIA MILITAR RJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelson Severo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrão Alves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that POLICIA MILITAR RJ were the better team. POLICIA MILITAR RJ's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
