Thanks to some nice moves Luís Fábio Melo could shoot a difficult shot in the 13th minute, which Luisão Coelho however easily saved by the left post. Arí Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Bezerra having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Luís Fábio Melo notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Sylar Footbal Club's Luisão Coelho. Luisão Coelho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Telmo Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. Luisão Coelho was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sylar Footbal Club's goalkeeper Luisão Coelho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Arí Vergílio came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Sylar Footbal Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arí Vergílio couldn't finish the play. Jarbas Bezerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Sá in the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Telmo Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 73 minutes, Luís Fábio Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Potunduva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fábio Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute, Lauro Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Potunduva's Telmo Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Gil Sá's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarbas Bezerra was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Gil Sá put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jarbas Bezerra. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Arí Vergílio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sylar Footbal Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Arí Vergílio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jarbas Bezerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Telmo Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luisão Coelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play.
