Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jean de Andrade took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Varzinha SS's Tadeu da Silva in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arraias's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Duarte Miranda during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Arraias booed when Varzinha SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Duarte Miranda came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Varzinha SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duarte Miranda couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Arraias's zone, Duarte Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Dracena came out of the goal and Duarte Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Varzinha SS's Tadeu da Silva slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adolfo Dracena. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. 16 minutes into the match, Tadeu da Silva dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Adolfo Dracena, 2-0. In the 19th minute, Varzinha SS's Tadeu da Silva ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Adolfo Dracena. Adolfo Dracena yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Tadeu da Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tadeu da Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Varzinha SS's Tadeu da Silva got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Tadeu da Silva struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Adolfo Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varzinha SS. Tadeu da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Arraias's Adolfo Dracena got control of the ball when Duarte Miranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. Varzinha SS's Tadeu da Silva was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 40th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 48 minutes into the match, Arraias's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Nogueira came free, but Adolfo Dracena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tadeu da Silva to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Arraias defense, Tadeu da Silva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adolfo Dracena. The Arraias fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adolfo Dracena should have stopped the shot. When Bebeto Nogueira fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varzinha SS's protests and gave Bebeto Nogueira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Varzinha SS getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Bebeto Nogueira hit a great ball. After 63 played minutes Arraias got a freekick which was hit by Dedé dos Santos. Laerte Motta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adolfo Dracena. Arraias's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tadeu da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Adolfo Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duarte Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Adolfo Dracena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. In the 90th minute, Adrianinho do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tadeu da Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adolfo Dracena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Varzinha SS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
