The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by César Proença during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 4 played minutes Euriapolis SC got a freekick which was hit by César Proença. Dudu Britto made an important save on a dangerous shot by César Proença in the 9th minute. Tony Quaresma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Dudu Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tony Quaresma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tony Quaresma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Britto having to interfere. A collision led to AC AMPARO getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Manuel Guerra hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in AC AMPARO's zone, Tony Quaresma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dudu Britto came out of the goal and Tony Quaresma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tony Quaresma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, AC AMPARO's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Quaresma came free, but Dudu Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tibúrcio Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Aparecido in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to Euriapolis SC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Aílton Passos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Meirelles in the 30th minute of play forced Euriapolis SC's goalkeeper Tibúrcio Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dudu Britto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tony Quaresma's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. If César Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renatinho de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sydney Matos kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Euriapolis SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tony Quaresma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Euriapolis SC booed when AC AMPARO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tony Quaresma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 68th minute, Renatinho de Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dudu Britto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, AC AMPARO's Teodoro Gerber got a free kick in the 71st minute.
