Spectators: 7297 (Terracing: 5474, Seating: 1678, VIP seats: 145) Armandinho Mumbach started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Pedro Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Custódio in the 4th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Diniz in the 9th minute of play forced Pains's goalkeeper Pedro Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armandinho Mumbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute César Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armandinho Mumbach had several of the Fao's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 20 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Bernardinho Dantas as he didn't even see the shot coming. Pedro Melo came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Fao's Aníbal Diniz. But to his dismay, Aníbal Diniz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 30 minutes into the game, Evaristo Varela cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Bernardinho Dantas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedro Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal Diniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Evaristo Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Pains's goal looked a bit too open when César Custódio came free, but Pedro Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Pedro Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Bernardinho Dantas made a huge save. When Fausto Soares fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fao's protests and gave Fausto Soares a yellow card for diving instead. After 44 played minutes Fao got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Soares. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aníbal Diniz was the one to do the kick off. Pedro Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Diniz in the 55th minute of play. César Custódio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Pedro Melo made a huge save. 61 minutes into the match, Fao's goal looked a bit too open when Armandinho Mumbach came free, but Bernardinho Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fausto Soares got his second yellow card in the match during the 62nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Fao's Fausto Soares got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Pedro Melo came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Fao's César Custódio. But to his dismay, César Custódio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After a rather tough play, Fao's Luís Fábio de Amaral got a free kick in the 76th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Evaristo Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pains's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Varela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardinho Dantas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 78 minutes into the match, Armandinho Mumbach had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardinho Dantas. Fao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armandinho Mumbach was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when César Custódio got free with Pedro Melo in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute Evaristo Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardinho Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evaristo Varela in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardinho Dantas saved Fao from getting behind. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Fao's goalkeeper Bernardinho Dantas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 94 minutes, Armandinho Mumbach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pains's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armandinho Mumbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pains walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
