To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vasco SS's goalkeeper Douglas Campidelis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of Vasco SS booed when Culuim SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douglas Campidelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredão da Fonseca in the 55th minute of the match. In the 95th match minute, Vasco SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Mazza to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Culuim SC were the better team. Culuim SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
