In the 14th minute Olívio Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaká Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nestor Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Arapua FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Vicente Fantini hit a great ball. Alessandro Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Alessandro Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Vaz in the 30th minute. Joinville FC's Alessandro Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Marques in the 37th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Joinville FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Marques came free, but Alessandro Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Marques blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alessandro Marques having to make a save.

The supporters of Arapua FC booed when Joinville FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sérgio das Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 61 played minutes Joinville FC got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Lira. In the 63rd match minute, Joinville FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelson Lira to maneuver through the defense. Nestor Vaz struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. But to his dismay, Nestor Vaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Olívio Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Arapua FC's Cláudio Marques in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Joinville FC's goalie prevented a goal. Joinville FC were furious when Tiago Gabriel Prado was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Joinville FC:s Alessandro Marques showed great skill when he stopped Zézinho Lopes:s penalty. When Cláudio Marques came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Arapua FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Marques couldn't finish the play. Cláudio Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Marques having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Cláudio Marques got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Nestor Vaz came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Arapua FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Vaz couldn't finish the play. When the referee ended the match the Arapua FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
