An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo Fernandez in the 24th minute of play forced Joinville FC's goalkeeper Alessandro Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If André Luís Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 43rd minute, Jerônimo Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Rezende in the 45th minute of play forced Mirador's goalkeeper Romeu Mumbach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, André Luís Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Joinville FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Luís Rezende was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Luís Rezende made a kick off. In the 54th minute André Luís Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Mumbach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alessandro Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
