The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Tolledo FC's Frederico Moura got control of the ball when Claudinei Sampaio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 40 minutes, Mário Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tolledo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frederico Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The supporters of Tolledo FC booed when Arapua FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arapua FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tolledo FC the free kick. In the 86thth minute of the game Cláudio Marques who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tolledo FC's Frederico Moura was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Tolledo FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Luiz Guilherme Barros hit a great ball. The Tolledo FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tolledo FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
