But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cléberson Costa couldn't finish the play. Michel Linhares was shown his second yellow card after 46 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Michel Linhares hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Tapuirama defense, Jaime Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juarês Miranda. The Tapuirama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juarês Miranda should have stopped the shot. After the first half Macaubas were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Zé Augusto Félix made the kick off in the second half. If Zé Augusto Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Leal in the 61st minute of play forced Tapuirama's goalkeeper Juarês Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 played minutes Tapuirama got a freekick which was hit by Edu Maranhense. After having played for 64 minutes, Jaime Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The audience was convinced that Jaime Leal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juarês Miranda was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Zé Augusto Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério de Amorim having to interfere.
