Nico Maciel started the match with the kick off. Martelo FC's Carlos Fernando de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luís Eger in the 7th minute of play. Carlos Fernando de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulinho da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 15 minutes, Paulinho da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pontes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulinho da Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Martelo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Eger came free, but Carlos Fernando de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulinho da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Carlos Fernando de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Nico Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Martelo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nico Maciel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Gustavo Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Martelo FC's Frederico Aparecido pulled a muscle in his back after 26 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 26 minutes, Renatinho Medeiros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pontes FC and the Martelo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Pontes FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Renatinho Medeiros hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Pontes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fabiano Ferraz came free, but Luiz Gustavo Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nico Maciel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Renatinho Medeiros hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Martelo FC's Luís Fabiano Ferraz got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Gustavo Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fabiano Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulinho da Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Carlos Fernando de Mendonça made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Luís Eger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Martelo FC's Vítor Barros got a free kick in the 51st minute. Luís Fabiano Ferraz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Luiz Gustavo Catarinense skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience was convinced that Nico Maciel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Gustavo Catarinense was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Nico Maciel charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nico Maciel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luís Eger in the 62nd minute of play forced Martelo FC's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Fabiano Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Luiz Gustavo Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Luís Fabiano Ferraz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Gustavo Catarinense. Pontes FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Fabiano Ferraz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Luís Fabiano Ferraz took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Gustavo Catarinense. Luiz Gustavo Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Luiz Gustavo Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Fabiano Ferraz in the 81st minute. If Luís Fabiano Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Pontes FC's zone, Eliseu Madureira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Gustavo Catarinense came out of the goal and Eliseu Madureira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio Varela during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th match minute, Pontes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Varela to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Luís Fabiano Ferraz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Martelo FC booed when Pontes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renatinho Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball.
