After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Nicolas Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arapongas E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolas Quadros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Perivaldo Pirani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Paulo José Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xupe's Juninho Diniz got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the game, Anderson Arósio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xupe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arapongas E.C. the free kick. After 19 played minutes Xupe got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Arósio. When Nicolas Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Arapongas E.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolas Quadros couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd minute Luís Guilherme de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perivaldo Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Arapongas E.C.'s Rafinha Lira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Perivaldo Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arapongas E.C.'s Ricardinho Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Diniz in the 25th minute of play. After 26 played minutes Xupe got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Diniz. Ricardinho Vasconcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliézer Tepedino's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Arapongas E.C.'s Ricardinho Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Diniz in the 32nd minute of play. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arapongas E.C.'s goalkeeper Ricardinho Vasconcelos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eliézer Tepedino in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardinho Vasconcelos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Xupe fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Xupe's Eliézer Tepedino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 0-3 became the score in the 44th minute when Eliézer Tepedino elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Eliézer Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Ricardinho Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Arapongas E.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Xupe were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo José Vides to make the kick off. Anderson Arósio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Ricardinho Vasconcelos made a huge save. Ricardinho Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Diniz in the 54th minute of play. If Luís Guilherme de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eliézer Tepedino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardinho Vasconcelos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliézer Tepedino went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Rafinha Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Eliézer Tepedino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardinho Vasconcelos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Eliézer Tepedino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardinho Vasconcelos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. After some careless play in the Arapongas E.C. defense, Eliézer Tepedino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardinho Vasconcelos. The Arapongas E.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardinho Vasconcelos should have stopped the shot. Ricardinho Vasconcelos was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Juninho Diniz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Juninho Diniz really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. In the 90th minute, Rafinha Lira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Ricardinho Vasconcelos managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Xupe's Eliézer Tepedino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Eliézer Tepedino in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ricardinho Vasconcelos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Perivaldo Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo José Vides in the 94th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Xupe walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
