Giovani Araújo took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juarês Ceresso. Juarês Ceresso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, Cordarin Irureta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juarês Ceresso. Santamaro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cordarin Irureta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 26th match minute, Santamaro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wellington do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. Juarês Ceresso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cordarin Irureta in the 34th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Zé Paulo Pinheiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juarês Ceresso. That made the score 3-0 in the 35 minute of play. Denílson Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Paulo Pinheiro got free with Juarês Ceresso in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Red Dragons FC West's Edgard Leão got a free kick in the 41st minute. When Jerzy Misiewicz fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Red Dragons FC West's protests and gave Jerzy Misiewicz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Red Dragons FC West getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jerzy Misiewicz hit a great ball. Reynaldo Mineiro was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 43rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 46th match minute, Santamaro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wellington do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
The wind increased when Wellington do Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. Natã Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Júnior Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Edgard Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Dragons FC West's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgard Leão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juarês Ceresso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juarês Ceresso came out of the goal and Cordarin Irureta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurinho Salgado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Júnior Jacinto made a huge save. Cordarin Irureta took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juarês Ceresso. Juarês Ceresso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. 90 minutes into the match, Santamaro's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo Pinheiro came free, but Juarês Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurinho Salgado might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júnior Jacinto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maurinho Salgado ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee ended the match the Red Dragons FC West players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
