In the 12th minute, André Luiz Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wilson Dias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Válbson das Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Mateira AD's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after André Luiz Araújo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Didi Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Válbson das Neves made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Falcão Lopez sent off a good shot on target. Válbson das Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jânio de Senna in the 21st minute of the match. André Luiz Araújos short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Válbson das Neves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Didi Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Válbson das Neves was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Wilson Dias capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wilson Dias really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. If Didi Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, José Paulo Vianna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eugênio Ceresso hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Válbson das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Dias in the 44th minute of play. Falcão Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson das Neves having to interfere. Mateira AD's Válbson das Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Dias in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilson Dias to make the kick off. Jeremias Albuquerque hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Tostão de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Limboso's supporters rose to their feet, but Tostão de Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Válbson das Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Válbson das Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Dias in the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mateira AD's zone, Didi Negri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Válbson das Neves came out of the goal and Didi Negri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Didi Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson das Neves having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Wilson Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Válbson das Neves was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Mateira AD defense, José Paulo Vianna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Válbson das Neves. The Mateira AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Válbson das Neves should have stopped the shot. If Wilson Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the game, Limboso's Wilson Dias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Válbson das Neves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. 79 minutes into the game, Wilson Dias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Válbson das Neves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Mateira AD defense, José Paulo Vianna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Válbson das Neves. The Mateira AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Válbson das Neves should have stopped the shot. Wilson Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Válbson das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Limboso players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
