The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Laranjais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson Tróia to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Castro in the 8th minute of play forced Laranjais's goalkeeper Eriberto Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vágner Botelho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Eriberto Trigo made a huge save. Percival Martins hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kléberson Antunes in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arí Pernambucano saved Flor from getting behind. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flor's goalkeeper Arí Pernambucano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luan Branco struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Arí Pernambucano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laranjais. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arí Pernambucano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eriberto Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Vágner Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Trigo having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eriberto Trigo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eriberto Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Botelho in the 92nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Percival Martins during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
