The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Malagutti Uai Soccer booed when Vagner was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juninho Moreno during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mário Torres did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Cristiano Cardozo 9 minutes into the match. After having played for 12 minutes, Valdir Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malagutti Uai Soccer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdir Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juninho Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Malagutti Uai Soccer's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Cordeiro came free, but Tadeu Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristiano Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Alvarenga in the 25th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Dalmo Zanette ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tadeu Correia was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 33rd minute, Erasmo Alvarenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Malagutti Uai Soccer's Tadeu Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Cordeiro in the 38th minute of play. Cristiano Cardozo was a little too slow when Erasmo Alvarenga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 3-1. 44 minutes into the game, Erasmo Alvarenga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cristiano Cardozo. Erasmo Alvarenga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. Gilvan de Castro hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Cristiano Cardozo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 52 minutes, Mário Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malagutti Uai Soccer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sérgio Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Cardozo having to interfere. Cristiano Cardozo came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Malagutti Uai Soccer's Mário Torres. But to his dismay, Mário Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Carlos Eduardo Vieira's late challenge caught a Malagutti Uai Soccer's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Eduardo Vieira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, Vagner was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Eduardo Vieira to maneuver through the defense. After 71 played minutes Vagner got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Eduardo Vieira. In the 74th minute Mário Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Eduardo Vieira thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Cristiano Cardozo, a very annoying self made goal in the 82nd minute which led to 6-1. Zé Cavalcante hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Ramón Mineiro lost his temper 92 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Mário Torres put it in 7-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cristiano Cardozo. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Malagutti Uai Soccer had played much better football throughout.
