The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Meirim's goalkeeper Zézinho Castro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernani de Medeiros. Zézinho Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrício Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ulises Manilan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Meirim's zone, Fabrício Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zézinho Castro came out of the goal and Fabrício Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zézinho Castro was a little too slow when Ulises Manilan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. Zézinho Castro came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ldc E.C's Fabrício Borges. But to his dismay, Fabrício Borges quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Romário Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ediberto Albuquerque in the 26th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ldc E.C's goalkeeper Romário Neves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Ldc E.C's Fabrício Borges dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Fabrício Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Zézinho Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the game, Ulises Manilan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Zézinho Castro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulises Manilan in the 47th minute of play forced Meirim's goalkeeper Zézinho Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ediberto Albuquerque made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Meirim defense, Ulises Manilan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zézinho Castro. The Meirim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zézinho Castro should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrício Borges in the 57th minute of play forced Meirim's goalkeeper Zézinho Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernani de Medeiros in the 59th minute of play forced Meirim's goalkeeper Zézinho Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulises Manilan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Castro having to interfere. A collision led to Meirim getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Délio Silva hit a great ball. Ulises Manilan, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Zézinho Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrício Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Fabrício Borges's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zézinho Castro was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Zézinho Castro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulises Manilan went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Ldc E.C made a substitution. Rodolfo Prestes replaced Fabrício Borges. When the referee ended the match the Ldc E.C players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
