When Christian Quaresma fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Parnahyba's protests and gave Christian Quaresma a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Parnahyba getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Urimama would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
