After 22 minutes, Donatello Teles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cajaziras and the Gatos EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cajaziras's Donatello Teles got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Júnior Messias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emanuel de Alcântara. Cajaziras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Júnior Messias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseu Senna couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the game, Donatello Teles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Enrique Andrade was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Júnior Messias was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Júnior Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gatos EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Júnior Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emanuel de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gatos EC's Enrique Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donatello Teles in the 60th minute of play. When Gatos EC's Júnior Messias in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 66th minute Júnior Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gatos EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júnior Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute, Rogério Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eliseu Senna in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel de Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Júnior Messias in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel de Alcântara saved Cajaziras from getting behind. Júnior Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel de Alcântara having to interfere. Emanuel de Alcântara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Júnior Messias went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When Júnior Messias came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Gatos EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júnior Messias couldn't finish the play. After 85 played minutes Cajaziras got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Fantini. Emanuel de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Thomás Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gatos EC fully deserved thier win.
