Elivélton Amaral was slow to take the kick. During this time Rua do cocô's players had a chance to rest. Kajetan Kon was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Sandro Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Urtun having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Martin Nyman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st match minute, Athenas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. Cornelio Urtun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandro Chaves in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute, Batiste Boulais reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cornelio Urtun. The goal made the score 0-1. Gilvan Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilmar Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Sandro Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Urtun having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Athenas's goalkeeper Cornelio Urtun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandro Chaves. In the 74th match minute, Athenas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilmar Lira to maneuver through the defense. Gilvan Favoretto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, Martin Nyman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilvan Favoretto. Rua do cocô's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Nyman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. When the match was over Rua do cocô could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Athenas throughout the match.
