Nando Ferreira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belmiro Batista in the 24th minute. A collision led to Minerva AD getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Luiz Paulo Chaves hit a great ball. When Valdo Arce came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Sobralia SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo Arce couldn't finish the play. Nando Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Sobralia SS's zone, Luís Guilherme Mattos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kléberson Urbano came out of the goal and Luís Guilherme Mattos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nando Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Guilherme Mattos in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kléberson Urbano saved Sobralia SS from getting behind. Minerva AD were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Sobralia SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adrianinho Trevisan took the corner. The corner led to Minerva AD's Orlando Duarte getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If Luiz Paulo Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raimundo de Souza to strike the kick off in the second half. Nando Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute, Sílvio Luiz da Cunha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kléberson Urbano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 62 played minutes Minerva AD got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Paulo Chaves. The supporters of Minerva AD booed when Sobralia SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belmiro Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Luiz da Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kléberson Urbano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Guilherme Mattos's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute, Belmiro Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Guilherme Mattos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Kléberson Urbano made a huge save.
