Tony Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Tony Salles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ciro da Silva's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Flávio Gonçalves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Faustão Souza went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elias Ramalho during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Azores Football Club booed when Araraquara SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nuno Meirelles in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Salles saved Araraquara SS from getting behind. Tony Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro da Silva in the 35th minute of the match. When Nuno Meirelles came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Azores Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Meirelles couldn't finish the play. Tony Salles didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Azores Football Club's Nuno Meirelles shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Faustão Souza took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flávio Gonçalves. Flávio Gonçalves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Ciro da Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Salles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Flávio Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Koehler, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 55 minutes into the match, Araraquara SS's goalkeeper Tony Salles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nuno Meirelles. After 56 played minutes Araraquara SS got a freekick which was hit by Dorian Luz. After a defensive mix-up in Araraquara SS's zone, Ciro da Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tony Salles came out of the goal and Ciro da Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tony Salles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nuno Meirelles in the 62nd minute. Ciro da Silva struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Tony Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azores Football Club. A collision led to Araraquara SS getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Faustão Souza hit a great ball. Tony Salles came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Azores Football Club's Nuno Meirelles. But to his dismay, Nuno Meirelles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Koehler in the 70th minute of play forced Azores Football Club's goalkeeper Flávio Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute, Ramiro Goiano had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The supporters of Azores Football Club booed when Araraquara SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustão Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, Faustão Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flávio Gonçalves was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3.
