Juan José López struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Sérgio Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipaguacu SC. In the 6th minute, Juan José López got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juan José López recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th match minute, S.E Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magno Meira to maneuver through the defense. If Nico Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Augusto Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiliam Fantini having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Juan José López managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipaguacu SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan José López was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 22 played minutes Ipaguacu SC got a freekick which was hit by Léo Garcia. When Nico Bastos came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Ipaguacu SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nico Bastos couldn't finish the play. After having played for 28 minutes, Léo Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ipaguacu SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Léo Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th match minute, Ipaguacu SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio de Queirós to maneuver through the defense. Sérgio Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan José López in the 35th minute of play. Léo Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Juan José López had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Juan José López got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Augusto Gerber to make the kick off. Sérgio Lopez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 59 minutes into the game, Juan José López recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sérgio Lopez. Juan José López showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Juan José López blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sérgio Lopez having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Léo Garcia in the 64th minute of play forced S.E Palmeiras's goalkeeper Sérgio Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Ipaguacu SC's Juan José López nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Léo Garcia couldn't finish the play. Nico Bastos might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sérgio Lopez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nico Bastos ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan José López got free with Sérgio Lopez in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 96th minute, S.E Palmeiras's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Juan José López fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ipaguacu SC played a much better game than S.E Palmeiras and deserved their victory. The S.E Palmeiras players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
