If Remo Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Brazuca booed when Cotinguiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toninho Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Roberto Vianna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeu Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remo Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Vianna having to interfere. Cotinguiba's Zé Roberto Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeu Andrade in the 15th minute of play. After 15 minutes, Dênis Cosme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brazuca and the Cotinguiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Brazuca booed when Cotinguiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Bernardo Eger threw the ball into play from the sideline. Brazuca's Belchior Chaves quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Emílio Lucas hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Remo Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Zé Roberto Vianna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Murillo Gonçalves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ismael Loyola in the 36th minute. Murillo Gonçalves came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Cotinguiba's Ismael Loyola. But to his dismay, Ismael Loyola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 43 minutes into the game, Tadeu Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brazuca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cotinguiba the free kick. Remo Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Zé Roberto Vianna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ismael Loyola to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 66th minute, Ismael Loyola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cotinguiba's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tadeu Andrade 68 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. A collision led to Brazuca getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Tadeu Andrade hit a great ball. In the 78th minute Tadeu Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Vianna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Tadeu Andrade recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zé Roberto Vianna. Tadeu Andrade showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Zé Roberto Vianna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeu Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Brazuca's Chiquinho Zonta was substituted for Remo Sena. Tadeu Andrade received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zé Roberto Vianna came out and tried to block the shot, but Tadeu Andrade slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 95th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Brazuca eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
