With a couple of smart ball manuevers Egídio Chaves in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Teles saved Eva from getting behind. 21 minutes into the match, Eva's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Luz came free, but Manuel Teles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Luís Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egídio Chaves struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Manuel Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LegionáriosFC. Manuel Teles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egídio Chaves's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Renan Furlan was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, LegionáriosFC's Erik França nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. LegionáriosFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eva the free kick.
