Renato Félix charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Renato Félix the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Agreate booed when Quatiba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Javier Manzano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrézinho Lago having to interfere. Andrézinho Lago came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Quatiba SC's Orlando Tande. But to his dismay, Orlando Tande quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 18th minute, Valdemar Rezende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Quatiba SC's Javier Manzano got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Quatiba SC's Orlando Tande managed to work through Agreate's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Orlando Tande dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 28 minutes into the match, Quatiba SC's goalkeeper Oddvar Uthus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tostão Prestes. 31 minutes into the match, Agreate's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Manzano came free, but Andrézinho Lago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the game's 36th minute Agreate's Armandinho Bueno took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Oddvar Uthus and thus the score was 1-1. Quatiba SC's Oddvar Uthus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Quatiba SC from getting a goal against them. Oddvar Uthus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Agreate's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Tande came free, but Andrézinho Lago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Tepedino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Quatiba SC's Oddvar Uthus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Tepedino in the 68th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Quatiba SC's Renato Félix got a free kick in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Agreate's Armandinho Bueno broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Orlando Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javier Manzano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Andrézinho Lago made a huge save. Andrézinho Lago didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 82nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. In the 88th minute, Orlando Tande got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Javier Manzano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Oddvar Uthus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Prestes in the 91st minute of the match.
