Spectators: 7297 (Terracing: 5474, Seating: 1678, VIP seats: 145) The throw-in from Zé Carlos Munhoz in the 3rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by 5 de Janeiro FC's Giuseppe Pena. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dorival Carvalho got free with Reinaldo Matos in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 12 minutes, Oscar Leme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gremio RB and the 5 de Janeiro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gremio RB's Oscar Leme got a free kick in the 12th minute. Reinaldo Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reinaldo Matos was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Jacinto Damião capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jacinto Damião really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Giuseppe Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Reinaldo Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Dorival Carvalho sped through Gremio RB's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Reinaldo Matos. Dorival Carvalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Reinaldo Matos made a huge save. Gremio RB's Reinaldo Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Gaspar in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute, 5 de Janeiro FC's Samuca Dionísio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. If Samuca Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gremio RB's Reinaldo Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Carvalho in the 48th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Vítor Tavares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dorival Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Reinaldo Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Paulo Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Renan Quintal's late challenge caught a 5 de Janeiro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renan Quintal helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Gremio RB's Renan Quintal got a free kick in the 64th minute. Hélio Pitta hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute, Dorival Carvalho made a precise shot to the right of Reinaldo Matos. Gremio RB's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Carvalho in the 71st minute of play forced Gremio RB's goalkeeper Reinaldo Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Matos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dorival Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Gremio RB getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Renatinho de Godoi hit a great ball. When Dorival Carvalho, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 75 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Reinaldo Matos was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorival Carvalho in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reinaldo Matos saved Gremio RB from getting behind. After having played for 83 minutes, Dorival Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 5 de Janeiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorival Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Paulo Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reinaldo Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Augusto Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Acácio Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor Tavares in the 88th minute of play. Tião do Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. 5 de Janeiro FC fully deserved thier win.
