The supporters of Nudrin SS booed when Sepetiba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dito da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Sepetiba FC's Alex Alvarenga got control of the ball when Rogério das Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sepetiba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nudrin SS the free kick. Alex Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélio Salles in the 46th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dito da Costa in the 48th minute of play forced Nudrin SS's goalkeeper Gerson Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dito da Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gerson Paranaense was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rui Guimarães showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 56 minute of play. Rui Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
