Clube do Remo's Flávio de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílton Oliveira in the 33rd minute of play. Flávio de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to S.C Carrossel Jauense getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Amílton Oliveira hit a great ball. Flávio de Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Alvarenga in the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes in the game Roberto Dracena did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Juan Alvarenga. Claudinho Viana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilson Nogueira in the 47th minute. The Clube do Remo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. After a defensive mix-up in S.C Carrossel Jauense's zone, Nuno Vander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. But to his dismay, Wilson Nogueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.C Carrossel Jauense's goalkeeper Claudinho Viana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Juan Alvarenga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Flávio de Senna. That made the score 1-3 in the 81 minute of play. Flávio de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched S.C Carrossel Jauense eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
