Luís Eduardo Tepedino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matilde SS. Wilson Gonçalves charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilson Gonçalves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Varadouro getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Wilson Gonçalves hit a great ball. Varadouro's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Juninho Zanette scored to the left of an out of position Luís Eduardo Tepedino, making the score, 1-0. Luís Eduardo Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho Zanette in the 21st minute of the match. Lucas Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doni Freitas in the 23rd minute of the match. Lucas Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias da Silva in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Doni Freitas to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Silvério Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Freitas in the 53rd minute of play forced Matilde SS's goalkeeper Lucas Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Eduardo Tepedino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvério Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With his leg Lucas Fontes managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Varadouro's Elias da Silva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luís Eduardo Tepedino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silvério Ramalho's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. The audience was convinced that Doni Freitas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucas Fontes was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. After 87 played minutes Varadouro got a freekick which was hit by Elias da Silva. If Juninho Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Eduardo Tepedino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvério Ramalho in the 94th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, Matilde SS could leave the field as winners, despite Varadouro having more of the ball for most of the match.
