When José Paulo Recife came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Botafogo G.F fans jumped to their feet. If Patrick Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, AE Unidos da Vila's Walmir Vasconcelos got control of the ball when José Paulo Recife tried to sneak it across the goal line. Botafogo G.F played a much better game than AE Unidos da Vila and deserved their victory. The AE Unidos da Vila players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
