After 10 minutes of play, Aracruz SS's Edson Cordeiro made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabinho Paiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute, Edson Cordeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aracruz SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Selahaddin Hepyener fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabinho Paiva having to interfere. Alfredo Guedes kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Aracruz SS's Edson Cordeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. When Edson Cordeiro came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Aracruz SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edson Cordeiro couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Aracruz SS's Fabinho Paiva threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ediberto Dracena, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the final whistle sounded Aracruz SS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rio Bonito.
