After a defensive mix-up in Camatei SC's zone, Fu Xu Wei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luís Meirelles came out of the goal and Fu Xu Wei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Camatei SC's Pedro Luís Meirelles got control of the ball when Fu Xu Wei tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 16th minute, Albertinho Motta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Paulo Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Jean de Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Paulo Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Pedro Luís Meirelles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar Palmeira in the 22nd minute of play. Camatei SC's Pedro Luís Meirelles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Palmeira in the 24th minute of play. Baltazar Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Pedro Luís Meirelles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Camatei SC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Isaltino Quadros hit a great ball. Michel Corrêa was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 30 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the game, one of Camatei SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 35 minutes into the match, Camatei SC's Alex Amaral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Paulo Queirós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Alex Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to ITAQUI-FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Dalmo Coutinho hit a great ball. When Alex Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Camatei SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Amaral couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the match, Camatei SC's Albertinho Motta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Paulo Queirós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Camatei SC's Pedro Luís Meirelles got control of the ball when Fu Xu Wei tried to sneak it across the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baltazar Palmeira to make the kick off. Pedro Paulo Queirós made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Alex Amaral sent off a good shot on target. Baltazar Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luís Meirelles having to interfere. Camatei SC's Alex Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Paulo Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Amaral in the 65th minute. Alex Amaral struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Pedro Paulo Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Camatei SC. Alex Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute, Jean de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Paulo Queirós made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Alex Amaral sent off a good shot on target. When Rony Eger came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Camatei SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rony Eger couldn't finish the play. Pedro Paulo Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertinho Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Camatei SC's Rony Eger got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. ITAQUI-FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
