Spectators: 7208 (Terracing: 5408, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ismael Reis started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Laranja Mecânica SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano do Valle to maneuver through the defense. José Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Zé Roberto de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Felipe Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Salgado in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Roberto de Andrade saved Golden Creek from getting behind. In the 12th minute of the match Golden Creek got a corner. Laranja Mecânica SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paulinho Catarinense ran over to the corner to take the kick. Golden Creek's Paulinho Catarinense was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nicolas de Azevedo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Felipe Severo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Zé Roberto de Andrade 14 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, Yuri Quirino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Roberto de Andrade was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Nicolas de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Furtado in the 34th minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica SC's goalkeeper Nicolas de Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35thth minute of the game Felipe Severo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Golden Creek's Zé Roberto de Andrade was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Felipe Severo struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Zé Roberto de Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laranja Mecânica SC. Golden Creek's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when José Salgado scored to the left of an out of position Zé Roberto de Andrade, making the score, 3-0. Osvaldo Ferreira's late challenge caught a Golden Creek's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osvaldo Ferreira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Laranja Mecânica SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Ferreira to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipe Severo to make the kick off. Golden Creek's Ismael Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute, Yuri Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 57th minute José Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto de Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Golden Creek's Hamílton Sarmento got a free kick in the 57th minute. Nicolas de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolas de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Reis in the 67th minute of play. Laranja Mecânica SC's Nicolas de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Reis in the 71st minute of play. Zé Roberto de Andrade didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felipe Severo went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 79 played minutes Golden Creek got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Moreno. In the 79th minute of the match Sérgio Koehler sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Roberto de Andrade skillfully saved the ball. In the 81st minute Ismael Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Laranja Mecânica SC's Felipe Severo in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Golden Creek's goalie prevented a goal. Nicolas de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Reis in the 85th minute of play. Zé Paulo Furtado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Nicolas de Azevedo made a huge save. When Samuel Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Laranja Mecânica SC's protests and gave Samuel Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. Ismael Reis was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 93rd minute. Golden Creek's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Golden Creek's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
