After a rather tough play, Tobiaras SC's Robinho Alagoano got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurinho Gaúcho in the 39th minute of play forced AVAN's goalkeeper Júlio Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldo Rodrigues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gino Favoretto in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute Sílvio Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Tobiaras SC's goalkeeper Osvaldo Rodrigues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gino Favoretto. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maurinho Gaúcho made a kick off. AVAN's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
