In the 47th minute, Guto Nunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Guto Nunes made the kick off in the second half. Queimado SS's Michel Dante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Nunes in the 51st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto Macedo in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vladimir de Brito saved Bahia from getting behind. With a little luck, Bahia's Vladimir de Brito got control of the ball when Percy Tinoco tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Percy Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Queimado SS's goal looked a bit too open when Guto Nunes came free, but Michel Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sílvio Luís Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michel Dante having to interfere. Vladimir de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Sílvio Luís Recife charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sílvio Luís Recife the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bahia's Cipriano Sena got a free kick in the 89th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Queimado SS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
