Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Walmyr Tinoco started the match with the kick off. Jailson Barbosa hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After having played for 4 minutes, Edmundo Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nil Castel MS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Alvarenga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romeu Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tião Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Aparecido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeu Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Aparecido in the 20th minute of play. Gilberto Aparecido blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeu Batista having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Walmyr Tinoco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guga Recife was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. 37 minutes into the match, Nil Castel MS's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Tinoco came free, but Guga Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tião Fantini to make the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Nil Castel MS's goalkeeper Guga Recife, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Guga Recife took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute, Didi Dionísio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lipo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Guga Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Meireles in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Fantini in the 57th minute of play forced Lipo's goalkeeper Romeu Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guga Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Tinoco in the 58th minute of play. If Gilberto Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. After 66 minutes, Luiz Gustavo Britto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lipo and the Nil Castel MS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Walmyr Tinoco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nil Castel MS's Renan Couto shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 79th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Romeu Batista but with some difficulty. In the 88th match minute, Lipo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute, Jailson Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute Tião Fantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lipo's Júlio Valle got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Romeu Batista successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
